About the Speaker

Vianney Sebayiga is a Lawyer at Anjarwalla and Khanna LLP, which is the largest law firm in East and Central Africa. He is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Degree from Strathmore University. He graduated in 2021 as the best overall student in the university and the best male student in the law school. After his Undergraduate Studies, he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Strathmore Law School where he conducted tutorials for students in the Law of Evidence and ADR. He is an alumnus of the 2020 Columbia Law School Summer Programme where he attended a course on Advanced Topics in International Arbitration. 

Vianney is strongly passionate about ADR mechanisms. He worked as a Research Assistant at the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre (SDRC), a premier mediation centre in Kenya focused on facilitating and promoting mediation. 

Additionally, he worked as a Legal Researcher for the CIArb-Kenya on the State of ADR Project, a project which sought to study the uptake of ADR in Kenya. He is also the founder of the Young Arbiters Society – Strathmore University Chapter, a student run club that seeks to create awareness about ADR mechanisms.

His essay on the role of ODR in a Post-Pandemic Africa emerged 2nd best in the Utatuzi Center’s ADR Essay Competition 2021.
